Matt and Toni have working ones on their blogs so they might have more tips but here's where I learned about it. There are more slideshows out there than this one but this is the one everyone has been using:
(with flickr, the set id is in the address when you are looking at the set, like: http://flickr.com/photos/willblatt/sets/72157606634451499/ is my set for august 2008 but the set id is the number after ".../sets/" )
I don't know if Matt did any tweaks to his. You should ask him.
on that webpage I posted above it has a button that says "Generate". Click it once you enter the Set ID # above it. Below the "Generate" button is some html code. It looks ugly but just copy and paste it into a blog post entry on bits and boogers. Then click preview to see the magic.
If you want something in the side bar, toni has a nice one but I think its from picasa. I'll look around tonight for one for flickr.

I created my ""Backpacking with a 6 year old in the high uintas" slideshow with Picasa. If you want to use picasa, they have a link that reads "embed slideshow" you will click on that and copy and paste the code on your blog post. (Personally, I thought creating a slideshow was easiest in Picasa)
I created my "Rocket Launching" slideshow with Adobe Photoshop Elements and then uploaded the file into blogger.
Sorry it's such a long post, This stuff really excites me, it's Pocahantas (Thanks Heather!!!) coming out in me.
One more comment, sorry... This is how I created my slideshow in my blogspot sidebar:
1. Upload pics in Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket etc…) 2. Click on Customize 3. Click Add A Gadget 4. Click on the + to the right of slideshow 5. Give your slideshow a title 6. Click on the source (Flickr, Picasa, or Photobucket) depending on where you uploaded your photos 7. To the right of option click on Album 8. Type your (Flickr, Picasa, or Photobucket) username 10. Click on Save

where do I put the set ID in my blog? with blogger you can add a Slide show, but it askes for a User ID...is this what I put in?
