Morgan has a family project due this month. The project is wide open to interpretation. I am looking for a cute 1st grade level idea that would display our family in a creative way. got any great ideas?
One thing I did with my students is to take it literally. Make a tree trunk with branches and then attach leaves with little pictures glued on or just the names of the people. You can use real leaves or leaf shapes.
You could tweek the tree idea and create one out of things that define your family, either in collage(magazine pics) or literal form...(trunk out of popcorn, different branches out of candy, cheerios or other small items. Then you can do family members as pictures, or make little fruit, leaves, birds, etc. with everyone's name). Since it is December, you could make a gingerbread tree and add the family as gumdrops. You could use a little 1 foot Christmas tree and make an ornament representing each person. Sorry, I'm getting a little carried away...
