Sharpemily

Emily decided to go as Sharpay to the "High School Musical" theme B-day party.

The dress up clothes bin seems to come in handy in a pinch!

Since I don't watch High School Musical, I assumed you meant Sharpei, as...in the dog. When I looked at the photo and realized that I must have mis-read something!

I envy those that can live a life outside of high school musical. That movie has taken over most that live in this house. Jessica and her sister know all the words and have even infected Hudson with it. He runs around doing the warm up for singing... brrll brrlll.... MWAAPPP! I'm starting to give him firecrackers and other boy-type stuff just to keep him from getting worse...

It is all fine and dandy, until you find your self sitting in Testimony meeting and hear someone draw gospel parallels with the cast of High School Musical.
I enjoy church so much more when weird things happen. I find myself listening in Gospel Doctorine Class and thinking "wait for it....wait for it...." Then there it is, someone starts to talk about Star Wars, Narnia, or Lord of the Rings.

My favorite non-Gospel testimony plagerism was when a guy in our ward in Reno was giving his farewell testimony before he left on his mission. I can quote him verbatim because the words are posted on the web:

"You better lose yourself in the [music,]* the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime, [yo]*.

* these parts were edited out in the final cut

And by the way, I used lines from the R-rated movie, "Gladiator", in a Sunday School lesson in Winnemucca as a reference for a good leader. Karen Anderson called me on it.

there is such a fine edge sword with quoting movies, but it typically pays off when you get a rebutal from some one who apparently saw it too, and now has implicated themselves....bwhahah. At any rate, my favorite announcement to date is in RS when a sister announced for her "Big News Minute" (per Chris this is a bizarre thing that only the RS ladies do) that she was excited for Thursday because it was The Office premier and "Jimmy and Pammy will be getting together..." Now, the question needs to be asked, did she understand the suggestiveness in her statement or did in her "molly mormon" niavity (sp?) think this meant they would be going out for ice cream and roller skating after work....regardless, this was her Big News!

Before I leave Utah, I vow to use this in a talk/lesson/conversation with an authority figure:

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
